Afghanistan’s participation in COP29 Azerbaijan holds significant importance, especially given the severe impacts that climate change has had on the country!
In an interview with Voice of America (VOA), Sayed Mohammad Suleimankhil, Director of the Samsoor Watan, stated that the presence of Afghan observer delegates and domestic NGOs at this international conference provides an opportunity to bring the Afghan people’s critical needs to global attention in a realistic manner.
He further emphasized that efforts to secure resources must continue consistently to prevent a humanitarian crisis in the country.
Afghanistan is among the countries that, despite not contributing to the climate crisis, remains one of its defenseless victims.
