Home » Climate Action  »  Afghanistan’s Silent Voice in COP29

Afghanistan’s role in COP29 is crucial, especially as the country faces profound impacts from climate change.
In an interview with BBC Dari Radio, Sayed Mohammad Sulimankhil, Executive Director and Co-founder of Samsoor Watan, highlighted the significance of Afghan representation at this global summit. He expressed that the presence of Afghan representatives and local NGOs at COP29 offers a vital platform to convey the urgent needs of the Afghan people to the world in a realistic way.
Sulimankhil also underscored the importance of sustained efforts to mobilize resources to prevent further humanitarian crises in Afghanistan.
Despite contributing minimally to the global climate crisis, Afghanistan remains one of its most vulnerable victims.
