Youth Voices for Climate Justice: A Dialogue for Afghanistan's Future – For the First Time in Afghanistan!
Samsoor Watan Organization for Environment (SWOE), in collaboration with the Faculty of Environment at Kabul University, hosted a landmark dialogue titled “Climate Justice for Afghanistan” on January 22 at Kabul University.
This event aimed to create a collaborative platform for youth, experts, activists, and representatives from governmental, non-governmental, national, and international organizations. The primary focus was to discuss and identify effective strategies to amplify the call for climate justice for Afghanistan.
Climate change has become as an uncontrollable humanitarian crisis for the country. Without adequate financial and technical support from international organizations and the global community, this challenge risks escalating into an irreversible catastrophe.
The dialogue concluded with a heartfelt appeal to the global community, urging them not to ignore the voices of the Afghan people. Nations that have committed to supporting those most affected by climate change were called upon to honor their promises. Such collaboration is essential to building a world free of environmental disasters and ensuring a sustainable future with sufficient resources for generations to come.
We thank the University of Central Asia for their financial contribution to this important event.
Samsoor Watan, for a sustainable and resilient Afghanistan!
