At Samsoor Watan, we understand that sustainable environmental change begins with the power of knowledge, dialogue, and community engagement. Advocacy and capacity building are fundamental to our work as we strive to empower individuals and communities to actively participate in environmental protection and climate action. Through strategic advocacy, awareness campaigns, and skills development, we aim to foster a culture of environmental stewardship and create lasting impact.

Public Awareness Campaigns

We use various media platforms including radio, TV, social media, and community events to raise awareness about critical environmental and climate issues. By integrating environmental messages into mosque sermons and cultural gatherings, we make sustainability discussions accessible to all segments of society. Our goal is to inspire action and cultivate a culture of environmental stewardship across Afghanistan.

Local Capacity Development

We train community leaders, youth, and local groups to play key roles in environmental protection and climate action. Through leadership programs and hands-on workshops, we foster local ownership of sustainability initiatives to ensure communities are equipped to tackle climate disasters. Our efforts focus on empowering Afghan youth to build their leadership potential and become change-makers in their communities. Our capacity-building efforts include but are not limited to:

  • Youth Engagement and Leadership Training: We engage young people as key agents of change. Through leadership training and environmental advocacy programs, we aim to develop the next generation of environmental leaders who will advocate for climate action and lead grassroots sustainability efforts.
  • Community Leaders and Local Governance Training: We support the development of local leaders by offering training on sustainable development, natural resource management, and climate resilience. These leaders are equipped to guide their communities through the challenges posed by climate change and environmental degradation.
Collaboration and Networking

Building partnerships is key to amplifying our impact. Samsoor Watan works closely with local NGOs, INGOs, academic institutions, civil society groups, and international organizations to strengthen environmental governance and implement collaborative initiatives in Afghanistan. By working together with like-minded organizations and experts, we can share knowledge, resources, and best practices to create more effective and scalable initiatives. We also participate in regional and international forums to create opportunities for cross-border collaboration with climate activists and organizations in neighboring countries. This regional cooperation strengthens our collective ability to address transboundary environmental issues, such as air pollution and water scarcity.
